Particles

'Particles i and ii' are from a personal series exploring the metaphysical nature of photography. Through the introduction of abstraction and ambiguity, these self-portraits seek to capture an elusive 'otherness', where light and movement convey an existence beyond the physical form alone.

By denying exposure through the practice of pinhole photography, an oblique sense of self is portrayed where subtleties are elevated above the apparent aspects that saturate our perception and understanding. This deliberate limitation of exposure and definition intends to both free and challenge expectation, inviting viewers to contemplate the ethereal and mysterious aspects of our reality, as well as the significance of ambiguity in our individuality.
