"Broken Dreams" is a deeply personal exploration of vulnerability and resilience. The image reflects the weight of life’s experiences on the psyche, but within these challenges lies an imperfect beauty and transformation that breathes life into our unique stories. From the initial self-portrait to the hand-textured print and final transfer onto handmade cotton paper, each stage presents new layers of experience, discovery, and the raw evolution of my journey, both personally and as an artist.
The use of handmade cotton paper forms the backbone of the work’s meaning, a gesture that we are each the creators of our own narratives, regardless of our pasts or the roles we carry. The paper holds both the image and the emotional weight behind it, allowing the material itself to become part of the storytelling, bringing together body, medium, and memory.
